It’s hard to find anywhere to take a date but restaurants and bars in the wintertime. Thankfully, before Christmas, there’s one exception… Window-shopping. The big stores, notably the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, pull out the big guns every year, rivaling for who can decorate the best storefronts. These huge, elaborate displays almost always include automated puppets and tell full-out stories for the delight of kids and grownups alike. In fact, the windows draw so many fans that roasted chestnut vendors set up shop in front of them to keep you not only fed but warm.
