The Bar Hemingway in the Ritz, frequented by the writer during World War II, is an homage to the tastes of this literary great. Restored to the way it looked in 1944, when Hemingway (along with some Allies) famously liberated the Ritz Hotel and then enjoyed cocktails (single-malt whiskies were Hemingway's favorite), the Bar Hemingway also serves tapas in honor of the writer's affinity for things Spanish.
Comfortable leather arm-chairs contribute to the more laid-back atmosphere of this bar, but the cocktails are serious stuff: the friendly, multi-lingual barman Colin Field was named best in the world a few years ago, and will make you a custom cocktail to suite your mood, a service that explains the hefty ticket price (about 25€ each).
