This is as close as you're going to get to an evening of classic pizza and beer, but we don't think you'll be disappointed. For almost two decades, Brasserie O'Neil has been brewing four varieties of their own beer and serving it in a cozy pub atmosphere. Try a sampler ("à la palette") of three or four brews for around 6 euros, then decide which one you prefer.
What we are calling "pizzas" are actually Breton "flammekueches" - akin to a crispy crêpe covered in cheese, just like a pizza, and with your choice of various toppings. The Spéciale O’Neil (tomato, pepper, mushrooms, and chorizo sausage) has received rave reviews. My personal favorite is the Provençale (tomato sauce, mushrooms, and gruyère cheese).
The décor is classic, with leather booths & chairs, wooden tables, and exposed wood beams on the ceiling. A popular spot for French people and English-speakers, this pub fills up quickly, so try to arrive around 7pm to get a table. Then stay all night!
Tip: The beers are 20% cheaper before 6pm.
Great for groups, if you can snag a table.
