Come for a bite, stay all night

Madrid is only a short plane ride from Paris, but you don't even have to go that far for authentic tapas, sangria, and that laid-back Spanish atmosphere.

Stroll over to Les Piétons ("the pedestrians") tapas bar on the popular rue des Lombards for delicious hot and cold tapas, planchas (toasts with various toppings), or a full Spanish meal like paella or grilled meats. Our picks: plancha aguacate (guacamole topped with Serrano ham), patatas a la brava (potatoes in spicy red sauce), and champinones y alcachofas al ajillo (mushrooms and artichokes sautéed in garlic and parsley). Don't forget to wash it down with a pitcher of sangria to share.

The tiled tables, festive music, and friendly staff make the experience one you'll want to repeat again and again. Just remember you're on Spanish time: enjoy your company and chat the night away: it's okay to stay until closing time.
