Don’t worry about how you dress on this date – when you go dancing at the Gala des Ringards ("ringard" = out of style), it’s the craziest ball of them all. Most are dressed eccentrically to dance to ultra-kitch old French tunes – the atmosphere is permanently set to “ridiculous,” and it’s ridiculously fun. You pay 9 euros instead of 10,50 if you’re dressed up, by the way. The gala takes place at the Glaz’art in the 9eme, 7-15 avenue de la Porte-de-la-Villette (metro by the same name). It takes place one Friday a month (check website) and starts at 11 p.m., goes all night.
